Georgia Tielemans was born and raised in the London, Ontario area. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, she developed a keen interest in architecture, photography as well as drawing and painting. After finishing her studies in Medical Laboratory Technology, Georgia concentrated on her photography, further developing her hobby while working in labs at several hospitals in Ontario.
Over the years, Georgia developed her painting skills through continuing education courses at Fanshawe College. Using her photographs as inspiration, she paints watercolour landscapes. As a sideline interest she also learned stained glass artistry.
With the changes that digital cameras brought to photography, Georgia updated her skills through continuing education programs at Fanshawe College. Here she met her mentor, freelance photographer Don Martel. Don challenged her, which helped to polish her eclectic style, and encouraged new possibilities in photography.
While learning photo enhancing techniques in Adobe Photoshop, Georgia began learning photo compositing techniques through online courses from Bert Monroy, and various digital painting techniques from a variety of digital painters. This afforded her an exciting new avenue, which allowed her to combine her two main passions, photography and painting.
Since joining “Awake – The Photo Artistic Life” under a new mentor, Sebastian Michaels, Georgia has continued to expand and develop her proficiency and her passion for Digital Photo Artistry.
As a lifelong learner, Georgia believes that “Mastery of any skill is an endless journey that should be passionately pursued, while recognizing it to be an ever elusive goal.”
