Over time, precious old photos will often become damaged by handling or faded and discoloured by sunlight.  Having your old photographs restored gives new life to your precious family memories.  Digitally restoring and retouching old photos makes it possible to remove stains, scratches, tears, fading and grain rupturing.  It also can rebuild missing pieces as well as enhance colour and definition.

Still Life Photo Works restores digital copies of your original photo, using as much detail from the original as available.  Original prints, if provided, are returned in the same condition as received and are never directly worked upon.

Digital restoration/reconstruction requires a high resolution digital scan of the original image.  Adobe Photoshop CS6 is the program used to restore your photographs, and a high quality scanner will be used to scan your photos up to 8×10 in size.  For larger format photographs a Nikon-based image capture process is available.

Minor Photo Restoration: Retouching and repairing of small spots, minor scratches, and adjustment of overall colour, brightness and contrast.

Major Photo Restoration: More extensive repair including minor repair and additional repairs of folds, creases, wrinkles, hand writing, image and colour correction and custom cropping.
